The number one truck manufacturer in the world Daimler AG plans to enter Indian markets under the brand name Bharath Benz. The company had already found the location to establish manufacturing plant in the outskirts of Chennai. The plant will have all the facilities of an international brand, including a 5.93km long test track and a production capacity of 36000 units. The first batch of trucks is expected to be rolling out of the factory in 2012. The company plans for a wide variety of trucks in different categories varying from 6 to 49 tons. It was Daimler itself who manufactured trucks for the first time in India in the late 1954.
